What Is This Project?

This might work out to be a long post but I want you all to know why I am doing this project this year.

Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with depression and pretty much the doctor said I may as well get used to it because I would be like this forever. And I would need medicine for the rest of my life. While I do feel better with the medication for the past year we have be unable to afford the prescription. I find without the medication my moods fluctuate and sometimes I am very emotional.

This is not a pity blog. I don't want anyone's pity.

I am finding my way through alternatives to the medication. That is where this project comes in. This is how I am going to work on making my life a happier thing. It is so easy to be bitter with the way the world is going these days. I was headed towards being a very bitter person and it is not who I want to be.

Beginning January 1, 2010 for at least 15 minutes a day I am going to write about something I am grateful for. Even the smallest thing will do. And this will be an every day thing. I can tend to procrastinate so this project is going to help me with that as well. I am looking forward to this.

I invite you to join me and I challenge you to either start your own gratitude journal or leave a comment here on a daily basis. Give me 15 minutes a day and lets see where we all are in one year.

I am looking forward to see what this will become.
